Queer Cinema Club XIV: The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant

This May, we make our first foray into the work of a staggering queer legend: Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Widely regarded as the catalyst of the New German Cinema Movement, Fassbinder was an astonishingly prolific artistic figure, creating 44 films, 24 plays and two television series before he died of a drug overdose at the age of 37. Among that work are some of the greatest works of queer cinema ever made, including this month’s film: 1972’s The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant. GET YOUR TICKETS
